Forums - Gaming - $600 tax credit in may - How will it effect sales?

From what I see (admittedly anecdotal evidence), Americans tend to spend a bigger percentage of their money than Europeans. Do you also have that perception? Do you spend most of the money you make?

As someone paying well over 2,000 USD each month only in Income Tax (excluding social security, pension funds, health care et al) I have to officially say: I hate all of you!!!!

If you make enough money to pay that much in taxes, I don't think anyone will feel sorry for you here ;)

EDIT - oops, I just checked and it's less than I thought. But still, you're fine ;)

Haha I was about to say the exact same thing!

Then realized, yeah it is a lot less than I thought as well

so whats the estimate on my income then, eh?

IRS STIMULUS PAYMENT FAQ:
http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=179181,00.html

Q. Is my Stimulus Payment taxable?

A. No. You will not owe tax on your payment when you file your 2008 federal income tax return. But you should keep a copy of the IRS letter you receive later this year listing the amount of your payment.

Q. If my Stimulus Payment is not going to affect my 2008 tax refund or increase the tax I owe next year, why is it I need to retain the letter that lists how much I received?

A. In the event you do not qualify for the full amount on your 2007 return but you do on your 2008 return, you will need to have the letter as a record of the amount you previously received. [Added 4/11/08]

Q. Will the payment I receive in 2008 reduce my 2008 refund or increase the amount I owe for 2008?

A. No, the Stimulus Payment will not reduce your refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return.

He's German. From what I can tell, that's about 60k Euros a year. I don't read German though so I could be wrong.

I doubt I'll ever see that money. They take all my income tax return-related cash away for child support.

No system in America is more corrupt, one-sided, or archaic than the evil family court system. Families and children are actually the last things they care about. Irresponsible single mothers on the other hand, they love them.

Holy crap. 60keur, you pay 2600 euro in taxes each month? Do you get any of it back in forms of tax returns? That's 50% tax rate!
