Why do you guys keep sweatin' how much you made. A single person only needs to have $3000 of yearly income to get the rebate.

Even living with your parents working part-time and McDonald's should have paid you that. If not they you sir, are a loser. :)

My wife and I are getting $1200. It's going in the bank.

It's a weird system. You don't make enough, and you don't get anything. You make okay, you get money but half the people probably use this extra money into buying stuff they normally wouldn't want to spend due to income budget. Then there's those who pay so much freaking taxes that they get jack back.

If you make enough money to pay that much in taxes, I don't think anyone will feel sorry for you here ;)

This 600$ check is more like a payoff from the federal government. They are trying to buy your vote and keep the incumbents in their office. They want me to spend the money on stuff, I will pay off debts.

I'm gonna buy food (this stuff has gone way up in the last 2 years and looks to continue), gas (lots of travel this summer), a few drinks (since I can no longer shop on the military base drinks cost 20% more), and maybe a few additional (games I wouldn't have bought until next year) DS games to keep me entertained during all of the traveling. Maybe buy Clubhouse Games and New Super Mario Brothers.

Overall, it should help game sales some (not sure how much). The rebate checks will mostly hit in May and June. It should make purchases of Mario Kart Wii, GTA4, and Wii Fit easier. It might even lead to some additional summer consoles sales or even Rock Band. A few PC gamers may buy graphics cards. Additional iPod sales could also happen (more so than additional PSP sales).

 The government did that a few years ago.  From what I understand, the government isn't doing that with this rebate but it could happen.
