Forums - Gaming - The Sega Dreamcast Appreciation Thread

Let's just put it this way. If you look at my avatar, that's my daughter playing Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for Matching Service on the Dreamcast. It was taken two days ago. I play that console, as does she at least two-three days out of the week. I'm working through Cannon Spike, Mars Matrix and beginning Alone in the Dark.

''Hadouken!''

I miss the Dreamcast. I even had the mouse and keyboard for it, and used it with Quake 3 arena. Used to play Armada with my buds and soul calibur. It had a lot of good memories and great games.

Thats it...ima go play it right now. Ikaruga the way it was meant to be played...

Ikaruga is EPIC hard.

I've never gotten past the third stage.

We'll miss you George.

bought the DC and a dozen of the top games after it was anounced dead :p cheap good quality gaming!!

only problem is that I had too many games and came back to Europe to play on a Secam (so black n white for US DC) 13 inch tv set... getting a new Tv soon though and I have the DC in a drawer =)

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Dreamcast to me is the greatest system ever and Shenmue is the best game ever made.

DC was so ahead of it's time many elements that you still see now becoming standard in consoles and 360 reminds me alot of the DC.

I have huge DC collection (IGN had it posted on the DC channel) and I still have mine hooked up and play it often and just in case it goes down one day I still have my new DC in it's box as a virgin.

Ultimate Cheap system in 2005 or so, EB games was sellin em for like $20 and games were almost always under $5, geez how i loved that and my Genesis (first system)... ah the memories of the glory days of Sega.

Typing of the Dead = Best Sleeper Title Ever!

That game is full of win.

What a great system, too many fine quality games to list, Sega was at their peak, it was all downhill from there. There are still quite a few good exclusive games for the Dreamcast, although more and more are being released for this generation of consoles.
Some of my favourite ones include;
*Cosmic Smash-simple yet addictive
Rayman 2-the best version
Rush 2049-the best version
*Record Of Lodoss War-better than Diablo
*Red Dog-tough but fun
*Zero Gunner 2-my favourite shooter
*TimeStalkers-a love it or hate it RPG I can't stop playing
*Cannon Spike-short but sweet
*Expendable-see above
*Evolution 1 & 2-two beginner RPG's,put them together for a grand time,Worlds on GCN only contained 2 and a little of 1
*Shenmue-a hardcore gamers treat
*Omikron-see above,some say it's even better
*Metropolis Street Racer-major fun,great soundtrack
*Powerstone 1 & 2-gives Smash Bros. a good run for the money
Skies Of Arcadia-best sound = best version
*Soul Calibur-still rated as the best version
*Armada-great fun with 4 friends
*Bomberman On-line-see above
*Starlancer- a blast and still on-line
*4x4 Evolution-also still on-line
*Outtrigger-tough controls at first,fun with 4 friends
*Ogga Bogga-also great with 4 friends
*= still exclusive not counting PC or handheld
There are so many more as this is just off the top of my head.
