Nah a Frenchman invented the World Cup so if France win it's going home.

I went into the NIG ARG game rooting for Nigeria but Argentine and Messi won my heart over. After Argentina's first two games I figured Messi's best days were over and he was inevitably going to revert to performing just as badly as he did in the 2006, 2010 world cups.

Unfortunately he's not surrounded by enough talent to increase their odds getting further into the tournament. I've never rooted for France since Zidane's days. It's nothing personal but I prefer Argentina over them. It's not impossible. If Messi gets his groove back, and the ball swings in his team's favor, they can defeat France.

On a personal note. France and Denmark both deserve to lose in the round of 16 simply for their boring ass performance today, and for being the first teams to draw at 0 in this world cup.

Russia is shockingly fun to watch when they are hot. The fan-team dynamic really makes for fun football and you just can't help but to root for them. Uruguay gave Russia (and us) a reality check though... and España will crush them. While Spain doesn't have the greatest defense I think they are one of the better goal scorers this world cup so far.

Not very highly regarded. It's pretty much a youth tournament where only players that are under 23 (with a few exceptions) are allowed to play.

It bothers me that FIFA uses Korea Republic instead of Republic of Korea. They don't call the Republic of Ireland the Ireland Republic.
