After watching a replay of the goal it's really Kawashima's fault for making a terrible stop. He also cost Japan a goal in 2010 and 2014 by fluffing a shot.

That was not accidental and handballs that deny clear goals are automatic red cards much like fouls when you're the last man back otherwise players will go back to the days of committing such offences when a goal is clearly about to happen.

Yeah that's how I see it as well the free kick was clever no doubt but the wasn't a lot of pace on the ball the keeper just didn't stop the ball well.
