I only have the 20gb harddrive so I won't be wasting space on games I can buy at retail, and probably cheaper on top of it. I'll save my space for XBLA games. There's so many good ones releasing this year it's mindblowing.

No, they're the original games. It disconnects you from Live just as if it's a disc-based game. The one thing that sucks about the setup. But, for rare games like Psychonauts that is really hard to find in stores, the $15 is worth it. I spent a year going to Gamestop every week or so and never once did I see it for either PS2 or Xbox. The sad thing is that there are 15 (!) Gamestops within 10 miles of me and I have visited well over half of them multiple times looking for that game.


Perhaps you already know about this, but if you go to the Gamestop.com site, you can use their finder feature to determine which used titles are in which stores. Then I call and have the store hold the title(s) I want. I've used that with great success for quite a few titles on PS2. We have about 30 stores in this area, and with gas prices what they are I have no intention of driving all over to find used games when I can do a simple website visit to accomplish the same thing.

I loved this game.

The game play does feel noticeably old school since it was derived from a point and click adventure (The original Longest Journey) and the combat system is such that it almost detracts from the overall gaming experience, but that is not the reason to play a game like DreamFall.

The characters, the world the developers created, the plot, the back story and the overall feel of the game all make the game a very immersive experience. I picked up a used copy back when I bought a 360 and I have to say that I spent more time playing DreamFall than Halo 3, Bioshock and Gears of War. But that's just me.

The PC version runs at much higher resolutions naturally, so if you have a decent gaming rig, I would consider buying it through Steam for $20 instead. If I get the urge to play through it again, that's what I'll be doing even though I already have the Xbox game.

LOL!  Well, you definitely got my attention with that one.

 

On topic... using the gamestop.com inventory feature seems to be very accurate, at least in my experience.  I would give it a try.  Then again, downloading the originals is something I'm going to have to try out.
