Would love more info.

I held off on buying this week 1, due to money issues. But depending on what I have seen and a few opinions I may wait a bit longer for price cuts. Always been a bit iffy on it ever since everyone on Metacritic has been hyping it, as I generally disagree with extremely high praise that reviewers give to games.

It deserves the praise. It's absolutey brilliant albeit a few issues here and there no more than most other releases.  stunningly gun game, stunning looking? very addicting, phenomenal score and sound and looks above all else. The minor issues aren't anything that cant be fixed with a patch. However I come from a place of no hype til the scores started landing, wasn't expecting anything at all here and got an absolute gem.

One thing I fear is something is rotten in denmark for the OG versions, my mates says shes getting overheating warnings on her fairly new slim, my OG sounds like a chainsaw going into mad stutters everynow and again and another mate is getting disc errors and crashes for the game alone. Can't find anyone complaining online so might just be a freak coincidence. Asked a few people on my PSN who have PRO and they have no problems. Hope this isn't an actual thing they fucked up on and is just coincidence.

Yeah I have an OG right now making a bit of noise for Bloodborne due to the relatively warmer weather today.

For God of War though my questions are a bit more specific than that. From day 1 we could expect God of War to have good visuals and music. But I am a bit more interested in the gameplay shift and just how annoying the kid is.

yeah, there's a lot going on in this game. 95 is an amazing score and it deserves it. I AM getting frustrated here and there, but mostly because I'm trying to use Bloodborne strategies on bosses which isn't a good idea. Combat takes some getting used to.

I gave up on Assassin's Creed: Origins for this, and I'm glad I did. Hopefully I'll be done this before Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze comes out on switch.

This really is the best time ever to be into games.

Yeah surprised no more reviews myself. At least it shows those that bought it launch day to review it are taking their time to complete it first.

Welp, day one. I'm about 5 hours in, loving it so far.

It's like a blend of God of War, The Last of Us, and Dark Souls. Hell of a wonderful blend, if I do say so myself.

God of War's character, personality, and brutality.
The Last of Us's storytelling and father/child dynamic
Dark Souls's combat and overall feel.

Hell of a wonderful blend. I could almost add in Horizon: Zero Dawn's art direction, but I'm not sure if that counts.

Masterpiece? Nope.

Some moments are great, other moments are good and some moments are dull or irritating. It's too inconsistent to be legitimately called a masterpiece. The map is next to useless and almost redundant other than it being useful (sometimes) for pointing you in the right direction. That is literally all it's good for. It's of no use whatsoever for navigating through different terrain. I find a lot of the puzzles just irritating and not actually fun to do. I feel as if I'm forcing my self to do a lot of them just to get 100% completion of a level. Some you can't avoid though, which is why I'm typing now and not playing. I can only stand so much before I turn a game off for a breather. I'm not in any way drawn in by the game in the same way I get drawn in by other games and I'm tending to play for shorter periods of time than normal. Remember I'm 60 though, and some of this could just be down to my slower reflexes. I've turned the game down to it's lowest difficulty because of it annoying me. Just for perspective, I completed Bloodborne. There was something about that game that made me keep coming back for more ... this game has't got that hook unless incredible vistas and spectacle is enough for you.

What part of GOW is the same as TLOU? The camera?

He just said The Last of Us's storytelling and father/child dynamic and you can add the camera like you just said to that too.

10 hours in and this game is already my favourite game of all time. So many surprises, things to see and fight... so glad i took the whole week off to play this next week.

Best game I have played.

Like they took all the stuff I loved from bloodborne, then improved it and painting it with GOW paint.

i completely disagree with you. And for the record I could say a lotr to point out why but well trying to avoid spoilers. But I will sat this....

For me, I like the map is just a "reference" This was the first me like this where I wasnt spending the bulk of my time in a map and  instead exploring.

I like the glut of options the game gives you, from perks to moves to armor....etc, it truly lets you find you own style and how you prefer to play.

And I love this games difficulty, make no mistake, this is not an easy game, but its that kinda beautiful though that when you master certain things it seems to become easy.

Incredible vistas and the game not having that hook? Idk man....... but hey, this is actually something I don't do...... so I will leave it at we all like different things and maybe this game is just not for you.
