Forums - Gaming - Doom graphics comparison Xbox One X vs Switch

The entire discussion began because someone was being told the better graphics would make them enjoy he game more and they replied that the graphics would come with a higher price tag, no gyro controls, and no portability. So your point is completely irrelevant and that last part of your post just confirms to me that you’re arguing for the sake of arguing. So before if you didn’t prefer better graphics then you might as well go back to gaming on 8 but consoles. But now there are valid reasons to prefer things other than graphics. Make up your mind, lol.

Your argument would be akin to me going into a thread about the best Nintendo Switch exclusive and listing Uncharted 4.

Unless I'm totally crazy Doom on X1 or PC is less expensive to buy than on Switch.

You are the one to talk sure... go back and read to what I replied then keep your non-sense. Curl itself didn't take any offense as you are doing in his behalf, also the one that made the very claim of "better graphics don't improve enjoyment". You were the one trying to change context to put others as wrong.

And the reason you didn't buy a PS4/X1(or a PC) even without a proper Nintendo competitor (like Switch) for over 3 years even if you have the budget as you said earlier?

Honestly PS4/Xbone just never seemed exciting or appealing to me. Early in the gen I was able to just play the 360 version of a lot of their games, and even now that support for last gen's been dropped, I feel like I can still fill the same niche with 360 games I missed. For instance, Witcher 3 looks cool, but I never played Witcher 2 on 360, so I'll just play that instead.

Between Switch and all my retro consoles, I simply don't need a PS4/Xbone/PC.

I see, if the exclusives on PS4X1 didn't please you for sure you would have no need to their games... I just find hard not to buy PS4 because I really like the exclusives... but you did buy WiiU for the must haves Nintendo titles on it right?

Naturally I've played many games without motion controls, and which looked great. That doesn't change the fact though that I would rather play Doom with Switch graphics and motion controls than with PS4/PC/Xbone graphics without them.

If DOOM on the Switch didn't have gyro controls, would you still have bought it?

If DOOM on the Xbox 1 X have graphics like Switch, would you still have bought it?

The $500 graphics are better than the $300 graphics. Are they 65% better? When you take your XBX in your Minivan to play on the go, are the graphics good on the ceiling screen? How good are the graphics when you play your XBX at the bus stop? At work? Waiting at the DMV? On a home 1080P TV?

If the price of portability is a blurry, stuttering and dumbed down version of a game, I rather just stay at home.

Like NEET or unemployed who stay at home all day to play game with TV?

The first point has run its course and I'm not getting through to you. On the second point, what did you play before gyro controls were a thing? Did you even enjoy playing great-looking games before this?

You would have to ask what he played before Switch existed and WiiU was a joke... the case would probably be he prefer to play Nintendo HW than anything else...

So the same as you who have bias toward playstation

The ones that doesn't think improving graphics improve your enjoyment would have stayed on their Atari and NES... you can say some doesn't care as much as others about graphics, but even so they praise the improvement on graphics their console of choice get.

Such a stupid argument, nobody is saying graphics shouldnt improve, were saying a game doesnt automatically become better with improved visuals.

If you take two versions of the same game and everything is identical except one version has moderately better visuals, it doesnt necessarily mean someone will enjoy it more.

Obviously we want graphics and hardware in general to improve over time since many gameplay elements can only be introduced with better tech.

Agree with you

Not sure what you were trying to imply. But sure I can only play Sony 1st parties on a Sony console, so I buy their consoles.

No he didnt, thats just how you interpreted it.

He said its rediculous to assume everybody would think better graphics make a game more enjoyable, in no way does that imply that people would think worse graphics make a game more enjoyable.

The ones that doesn't think improving graphics improve your enjoyment would have stayed on their Atari and NES... you can say some doesn't care as much as others about graphics, but even so they praise the improvement on graphics their console of choice get.

Agree, why choose ps2 when GameCube and Xbox are quite stronger?

So you should buy and play Xbox 1 X by your logic, ps4 pro is nothing compare to it, a true 4k system

When X1X start playing Sony games sure I would buy X1X instead of PS4Pro, unfortunately it doesn't. I play 10x more exclusives than MPs.

You're responding to a Nintendo guy with this post.

In Brazil at the time, PS2 was cheaper and I could buy pirate games besides not having revenue, so I bought the PS2.
