Forums - Gaming - Should i buy a new 360?

As ive mentioned in other posts, my 2nd 360 has broked, im currently trying to decide if its worth replacing, at the moment i only really use it for Gears of War, and i can get that on PC, also they only new games out this year i want that are 360 exlcusives are Fable 2 and Gears 2, so should i buy a new 360 or get something else instead?

Thinking about getting your third 360? A bit optimistic aren't you, the quality of the 360 is depressing and isn't worth bothering with. I actually sold my 360 after the second time it rrod'd. Get a upgrade for your pc or steering wheel to play GT5p with or something, at least get something worth your money that's well constructed instead of wasting your energy on malicious hardware.

If it RRoDed, can't you get MS to replace/fix it for little cost? It's worth doing the return process if you haven't voided the warranty. If you're sick of the crap hardware, do the RMA process, then sell it. Either way, don't pay full price for a new one. The problem still hasn't been truly solved with current hardware revisions.

For the RROd problem to be solved ,the inside configuration of 360 needs to be redesigned,,,ofcourse new chip(lower ratings) will help but the problem still is going to be there.

Well, there was just a price drop in Europe... If you really like it and want to buy another, wait for another price drop, bundle that you want, or redesign and just play other systems/ PC until then.

I'm sorry to hear your 360 crapped out on you. I'd send it in for repairs and once you get it back, sell it, since I'm sure the best titles will eventually be on the PC as well (if you don't mind the wait). As for what to do with the money, you could get a PSP if you're a techno-centric person who wants a portable gaming unit/media viewer/music player. Later this year they'll be rolling out that BD-Copy functionality to transfer standard definition movies from a blu-ray in your PS3 to PSP. All I can say is do what you feel is best, but I wouldn't buy a new 360 expecting it to be failure proof. If you want to keep the 360, just get the repairs and get the most out of it that you can before having to sell it.

All you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be.

Thanks for the advice everyone, im off now to take my 360 back to the shop i bought it from, ill let you know what i do with the refund money!
