You just stated the largest fault yourself. When designing any portable product, battery life needs to be one of the biggest if not the biggest priority of a hardware manufacturer. Sony focused on so much that they forgot one of the most basic needs.

there are extended life batteries available.

@Skip
I wouldn't have bought a PS3 if I didn't enjoy Sony products. Plus when I bought the console I didn't expect it to turn out like this. But I really believe there's always hope for Sony in the future.

it's not like this is the first time that Sony is calling a Playstation a home entertainment system and advertising it so
they are doings this from the day the original Playstation launched in 1994

Yeah they always focused somewhat on mulimedia if you really want to get technical(if you can include the introduction of the disk, the DVD on PS2) but it still doesn't compare to today's marketing of blu-ray on PS3, as Sony wants you to first buy the console as a blu-ray player and a gaming system 2nd.

it's always have been a sony home entertainment system
so has it been adverstised but also with a lot of focus,
or actually more focus on games

I don't know what commercial you've seen that makes you think they are neglecting the game function of the PS3

''Hadouken!''

Your PS3 probaly isn't overheating, it is supposed to be blowing out hot air.

The ps3 gets too hot in my room.
My whole room can go from 70 F to 83 F in 2 hours of play time, or one movie.

the only company that comes close in this wide range of electronic product but falls short is Samsung,,,

So sony is one of the best consumer electronic products,,,,

Ive had lots of sony items for the past 15 years and I have never contacted sony's customer service,,,that says something about their company ,,not to mention their talented engineers

Agreed... I own quiet a lot of high-end Sony products (Laptop, PC, HDTV, Camcorder, Digital Camera, MP3 Player... and soon Sony Rolly & Sony Xperia), and I have never had a problem with any of my Sony products. They really do run flawless, my only complain so far would probably be the MP3 Player I had, it was simply defectice (Battery kept dying after 40 minutes of play), but I recieved a replacement, and since then not a single problem.

As far as the PS3 goes, I have no complaints there as well... I understand its expensive, which means not everyone can afford it, which means low console sales, which means lack of motivation for game developers...

But if its one thing I know about Sony, in the end they always win... Sure they make mistakes here and there like Beta Max, but every company does.

We all have had bad experiences with companies, ive had my fair share...but as far as my experience with Sony, I've never been let down, so I will always trust them.

Edit: Does this make me a Sony fanboy? Sure, I think most people would be in my situation. Although because im a Sony fanboy, doesn't mean I hate any competition against Sony... I'll give em all a fair chance, thats why I have a Wii & 360. Thats why I have a 2nd Samsung HDTV, a BlackBerry instead of Sony Ericcson, etc
