To the OP, it's an interesting issue. Personally I think the answer is the same, or related to, the question of identity. For instance in America you can't be white unless both your parents are white. You have to be "pure" white to be white.

It is ridiculous in a kind of logical sense. Why is it that a person with a "white" parent and a "black" parent really can't call him/herself "white", they must call themselves black. What is the quality of "white" that as soon as it is mixed it is no longer that thing, but when "black" is mixed with anything then that thing is always "black".

I don't know, that just my experience here in the last 40 years in America. If I said anything that offended someone I apologize but I would actually appreciate a detailed reason why you were offended. It's an interesting subject to me. I started using the "other" check box on questionnaires that asked for race or ethnic group when I was about 10. That's when I figured out how this "race" thing is designed.

Still in history people of their own cultures enslaved themselves, this includes "white people." You might not see any need but now a days I have seen more racism towards whites then towards blacks.

Plus where is the Caucasian College Fund? Asian College Fund? and whatever else that African Americans seem to be entitled to for zero reason. 

Frankly all the racism I see now a days seems to be from both African Americans and people of the Jewish Faith who can't get their heads out of the past.  Honestly people who sit there "my great grandma was killed during ___" make me sick.  Well I'm sorry for your grandmother, she didn't deserve whatever the heck happened to her just like everyone else who suffered, you were not physically there, it's all in the past. Get over it.
