What did I say that had anything to do with the 360 or the PS3 in that post?

I said that before you attack the OP in ANY thread, you should at least glance at the links they provided.  Clearly, you did no such thing.

your last post isn't your only post, this thread is about ps3, which you made, and i did click the links, that's how i found out that this error has nothing to do with blu-ray, a ring, and death, so that just leaves "of".

once again, spinning. don't you get dizzy with all this spinning?

ok lets clear things up. This is not a hardware failure

Its caused by idiots who have screw with the firmware updates

end of story

How is it possible to screw with the firmware updates? Isn't it like "would you like to update your firmware?", "yes please.", "thank you very much, it's updated now".

From starcraft's third link:

"Indeed, some users have experienced the error after mistakenly installing firmware meant for a region other than their own."

Is the console silly enough to offer firmware updates from other regions?

No, people download firmwares from Japan or other regions becausae they may come out a few hours earlier, or a few days or weeks earlier. I'm not keen on PS3 fw updates, but with PSP, some updates come out a fee hours-days later, and some people don't have patience. And it tells you not to update from other regions before you accept their policy but do some idiots listen? no.

I hope that we can call this the 'boosolit'! That would be awesome. Then I would be an internet legend.

Has anyone thought that this could be the work of 'T3H CELL!'? I mean, it is a living breathing organism. It could throw this error code on your screen so you send it back to sony, and all the cell's can regroup and make a super PS3 to take over the world!

Cell is Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed!!!!!!!

Read this very carefully, TWICE, before you reply.

You wrote an entire post complaining that I made up the name BRROD, which you don't feel fits the situation.

The name BBROD came not from me, but from the links.

Right after that, you failed.

I think all console failures are pretty heinous. However I suspect this particular failure was intentional, or at least viewed as a casualty of war. Sony should have had an adequate back door to address this particular concern. The only reason one would be lacking that is the fear pirates might use it to modify the system.

Anyway it could be a real Pandora's box for Sony over time. How often does the average consumer lose internet service. How often do consumers lose power. What happens if the failure is on Sony's end of the pipeline. When you look at it from that perspective it could be the coding version of a time bomb. Just waiting for one slip up to devastate the market place.

Anyone that uses a computer knows is an eventuality that they are going to lose a connection during a download for one reason or another. Now if that is the cause of this code killing the drive. Then we will probably hear more about this, and it means that we are one major systems failure from a major public outcry. Can you imagine the stories solar flare kills thousands of consoles, power outage killed my console.

I hope that this problem is truly rare, and I hope that a nightmare scenario never takes place. While it might be funny to many its never funny for someone to do without a console they paid for. I also hope that Sony takes responsibility for this if its bad software on their part. A bad line of code is no better or worse then a warping mother board. The only thing worse then having to do without your console for a month is also having to pay a hundred and fifty bucks to get it fixed if you did nothing to break it in the first place.

Funny, I could have sworn that Blu-Ray's were the same shape as CD's and DVD's. You know, ring-shaped?

I must have been thinking of some other next-gen video format, like HD DVD. Wait........

lol, did you even research what the error code you are reffering to does? it has NOTHING to do with blu-ray (seeing as you can still watch blu-ray movies even with this error), it's a firmware bug on the ps3. what the hell does the blu-ray being ring shaped have to do with it? this error doesn't even involve the "death" of anything either. you're trying way too hard.

You have just been upgraded to.........

EPIC FAIL!!!!

This is why after you downloading the update  then  you install it. There are back-up battery packs you can get for your PC in case of power outages. It a must for me since I also have cable phone.

Hopefully they can find a way to patch this problem up via firmware.
