is DTS-HD done through optical aswell or just HDMI?cause my reciever has optical in and HDMI out

Just HDMI.  You'll probably be just fine with the DTS core track though.  That can be transmitted through optical.

thanks man for the reply,,,I noticed when I click on the DTS 5.1 in optical menu of sound settings(PS3),the bluray movies will not have any sound,meaning the movie plays like in mute,,But as soon as I take DTS-5.1 off the  chosen list in sound setting menu,the sound is back with a milliniom of a second delay compared to video,,,Video goes straight to the TV by HDMI cable and Sound goes to receiver through optical cable ,,,do you know why this happens?
