I believe, Little Big Planet could be a game that could sell many consoles to a large and vary group of people. If they advertise the game wisely, have a bundle with the game, with perhaps a smaller console by that time, a different color (white?) and a bit smaller price tag... We could see major boosts.... Or is it just my wild imagination?

No, seriously. I think LBP will be like Z&W, an amazing game that will just not sell. (Well definitely more than Z&W but still nothing to brag about)

Sony already selling ~200k PS3 on average WW.
PS3 pricecut on Christmas.
16 mln. PS3 in 2008 with total 25 mln.
40 weeks with 200k avrg. = 8 mln.
Last 12 weeks will bring also 8 mln.

If haze is actually really good, Sony should try to hype it Halo3-style, and then between GTA4, Haze and MGS4, the ps3 should really be able to do well in NA, and close the gap a little to the Xbox360.

The ps3 is already doing well in europe and will continue to do so. Japan seems...almost hopeless, MGS4 will not be able to turn things around there.

ROTFL, why did I see that one coming Well, Japan has the white PS3 next to the black version, so it would be obvious if the West would get the white PS3 as well. Plus it will fit nicely with your WII if you have one, now won't it

Somehow I have the feeling we shouldn't underrestimate LBP. Its absolutely not like Z&W. Z&W is a genre you like or hate. LBP goes far beyond that with its tons of abilities.  Plus the game has one big plus... its sooooo cute.

Edit: Oh please can people stop saying the PS3 is doomed in Japan... I hate to see the PS3 missing out all those typical Japanese games, like RPG's  What Japan need is "games, games and games", but they're not getting any!!

Who says Nintendo isn't advertising? I'm already getting sick and tired of the WII Fit commercials while the thing is NOT even released around here. Not to imagine the WII Sports commercial which I've seen pass by like a thousand times.... Too much advertising can be annoying, but no advertising is being left in the unknown and therefore worse for the company.
