i am reading about MGS recently and all news i find are good news.. and now i think it might be the only real chance for Sony to move some serious hardware in Summers when sales are slow... or get some realy good hardware numbers in 2008.

So far there r few pros and cons attach to it..

Pros:

- It sounds like that it is going to be very well made... rather i should say extremely well made...

- Going to have a good online mode too.

- Coming in at a time when there is not going to be much competition of new games especially on PS3...i think in almost 6 weeks the GTA IV effect will be over...

- Going to launch simultaneously all over the world

Cons:

- launching on a system which is still a bit expensive

- I m not sure how good Sony will be able to advertise it.. so far their advertisement is below average..

But wot i believe is that if Sony can advertise it properly this game alone can move around 0.8 - 1.2 million hardware in 4 weeks... over the current normal sales... atleast it has the potential.. So the question is can it do that..

Second biggest advantage this game can provide to Sony is that it can bring gamers from NA to PS3... so far NA is not very welcoming to PS3... and i think with this game it can start to change for positive...

Good bundle good price and good advertisement and it can be a perfect solution for short term success for Sony in NA.. and when MGS effect will start to wear off after 4 - 8 weeks then Sony can move with a price cut around August.. and then it can simply be well written ending for 2008 for Sony..

Only obstacle i see is that how well sony can advertise it... i don't think price will be an issue if Sony has bundle..

They need to take the MS advertising route: Good song + Gameplay clips.

And I love the con "It's on a system that is a bit expensive", you forgot to mention that unlike the other consoles this system is actually worth it.

Hmmm i preddict that it will be well advertised. They seem to be doing everything right with MGS4, A bundle, the game has a lot of positive hype around it but not too much. I think this game will be a pivitol point for PS3, a hit or miss situation.

Right now, I'm imagining MGS4 gameplay clips with "Touch of Grey" playing in the background and laughing my ass off.

if Sony cuts price after MGS like 2 months after they are gold for this year and my prediction of a PS3>360 Fall will happen.

MGS is just the kind of game that's suited to the pseudo-arty advertising Sony seems to love so much.
