Forums - Gaming - How to connect Gamecube Controller to Switch

Pretty much the Pro Controller minus the $40 extra $ the Pro Controller costs. Works well on lots of games  (except Splatoon and Zelda)

You can connect your GameCube Controller with any WiiU adaptor, even the Mayflash and the other one that is like $17 on amazon right now. Also any gamecube controller works, even the wavebird. Also you can connect up to 8 GameCube Controllers

Ok so for many people, going into "Change Grip/Order" does not work, so the easiest way to set it up is to

1) Go to controllers from the main menu (using joycons or Pro controller)

2) Select "Find Controllers"

3) Play around with the "Find Controllers" area for a little bit and then exit.

4) Now go to "Change Grip/Order"

5) Press L and R on your GameCube Controller. It should pop up.

You're all set and ready to go! Gamecube controller works great on Mario Kart, Sonic, Shantae, FE Warriors, NBA 2K18, etc

I have tried it, and it detects the controller, but I want to know if i can use them as secundary controllers for local multiplayer. Can someone with MK8 or Pokken confirm if it works?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

So it isn't necessary to connect both usb cables?
