Do your eyes hurt while playing video games?

Eye strain is a real problem for some gamers, especially those who spend hours on end in front of their console’s screen.

The best way to reduce eye strain while playing video games is to make sure you have frequent breaks, and sit a good distance away from your screen.

However, PlayStation have also come up with a solution to dry eyes or red eyes that you might get from long gaming sessions.

Available to buy from Numskull, these PS4 gaming glasses are said to reduce UV glare allowing you to play for longer without feeling the strain.

The company also claims that these PlayStation-branded amber lenses will give you a “competitive edge” by improving visual efficiency and increasing contrast perception.

The PS4 gaming glasses are available worldwide. They retail at £24.99 in the UK and $37.99 in the US, and arrive with a blue carry pouch and cleaning cloth.

As we definitely suffer with watery eyes following long gaming sessions, we’ve reached out to Numskull for a pair to see if they really do allow you to play for longer without suffering from eye strain.

Stay tuned.

All I can think of:

Damn. And PC gaming only cures cancer. Checkmate PCMR.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Isn’t there a whole bunch of legal stuff that needs to be done to claim a product health benefits?

Have they done that, or did they just make up some marketing?

1. Glasses such as these are available already by a multitude of sellers. I'd had a pair for years now.
2. Title is misleading. These glasses don't make gaming good for your eyes, it just reduces the strain on them while gaming. It's like staring at the sun with sunglasses on versus without. Neither is good for your eyes, one is just less harmful.

That competitive advantage though......

Why would this only specifically be for PS4, those glasses don't know if I'm playing Switch or something instead lol.

Is this an actual official Sony branded item? I've seen these things at gaming cons years ago, looked silly so I passed on em.

Just like I said... "good". (Please note the quotes.)

Too late for me. I already suffered from eye dryness.
