Gears of War had a profound effect on me at the time but since then i've enjoyed COD4, Bioshock and Mass Effect. I got Wii sports but although i found it fun, i was a bit dissapointed by the other Wii games which didn't incorperate full motion control. For instance, swinging your arm in any direction to make a sword move in its pre-set animation was no different to me than pressing a button, it just felt gimmicky. GTAIV and MGS4 come to mind too when they come out.

I think big games with big graphics and big stories are going to be the ones that define this generation. I had a much better experience witnessing Gears of War the first time than Wii sports but yet again, alot of casual gamers won't play Gears of War. A cross between Wii Sports and Gears and then i'm sold!

There have been some great games this generation, there's a lot to choose from... Probably Zelda: Twilight Princess
