maybe the new internal components is just cost saving to manufacture.

I speculated long ago, that Sony might choose to welcome the Xbox One X, with a price cut on the PS4pro.

This just makes that seem all the more likely.

PS4pro 349$ vs Xbox one X 499$, this holiday.... right?

Two weeks ago, the 1TB PS4 Pros dropped from $529 to $469 in Australia (at least at JB Hifi which is where I shop). They're still $559 at EB Games.

I would be stoked with another drop at the end of the year.

Aaaaannnddd... They tell us nothing about the specifics of the "hardware upgrade".
Just a ramble on what we already knew about in regards to the model number scheme.

They do tell us that it has no influence on specs or performance. So it's irrelevant anyway.

Not irrelevant to me.
If they have consolidated various chipsets, changed fabrication process... I would like to know.

As usual the new console will probably be more silent, less power hungry and cheaper to produce.

That is generally the normal process that consumer electronics trend along over long periods of time.

But "how" is the real question.
