We shall not speak of that game...

*looks around*

Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Oh my, the horror!! (Actually, I haven't tried either of those two games...)

Give me a good controller and the ability to run pirate ROMs, a good web browser, and a good media player. I'm easy to please.

The Ataribox™ will initially have the best hardware and software, later on it will have the only.

Seems pretty box, but doesn't seem to have good content on it.

The ABox will be a sci-fi Machine!

I can't wait to play The Amazing Frog 2 on this hunk of shit.

Atari was well dead before I was even born but this consoles makes me all nostalgic. My uncle had an Atari 2600 which we were playing until the mid-late 90s.

I will hold my judgement until I see specs, final price and launch library.

Worst case I use it to browse the internet and to watch anime.
So it will replace this computer.

I mean a 250$ low tier Linux computer (basically a deluxe Ouya) is not going to be capable of much more than internet and low graphical games. I'm not sure you're going to find much success in replacing a desktop computer with this

also to some of the earlier comments- this is not really Atari of old, the company 'Atari' that released the Jaguar and everything before folded, then the Atari name was sold a few times.

This is like a 20 some people small company that bought the name and trying to make a quick buck. A 250$ Ouya-esque box with nothing exclusive or special is just bizarre. They would have been far better off doing a classy NES classic like thing with the Atari full library included (or as much as they could manage), from 2600 to Jaguar. As soon as they decided to do this generic little computer box idea.... knew it was over. There are loads of similar options to this at this price range

and frankly this company is too small to manage any sort of miracle to pull people in (i.e. some great in house titles OR some sort of third party exclusive). The people behind the Ouya probably had more money available for their product and failed, this will have no chance.

Note: supposedly the Ataribox will also be crowdfunded which means it's basically dead in the water, they have no means on their own to even get it off it's feet, it's basically conceptual at this point
