Ha ha. Playing VR games in HDR...

My eyes will die before I'm 40.

EDIT: Forget I said anything... Seems like HDR won't go through the VR headset... It's only so you don't have to keep messing around with your HDMI cable to get HDR through the actual PS4 console. This was a big oversight on Sony's and should have been in the VR module from day one. Kind of giving early adopters the shaft.

Praise the sun.

PSVR is plenty bright already. Especially compared to watching tv with my projector. When I put the headset on after I'm always surprised by the brightness, then when I take it off an hour or two later I'm wondering why is it so dark in here... I now turn the light up first before I put on the headset.

Too bad they don't have a ps4 pro vr redesign with dedicated VR port. Get rid of the breakout box entirely. Too late now ofcourse, too much confusion. psvr headset for base plus old pro with breakout box, next to ps4 pro vr and standalone headsets with a different cable.

Around the Network

If you already have a PSVR then you have no need for this update. Unless you really just want the convenience of not doing a lot of things to switch HDR on.

Don't you have this for your right hand ?

The game wants two move controllers, but since it also accepts input from the ds4 I can try to see what happens when I connect that as well. I can't remember if that's actually a motion controller or not, dunno if that could work for rotation orientation for strafing.

Let me know what happens. I'm not expecting much, though. Most games I own want either two analog sticks or two Move controllers. Hopefully the Nav Con gets a little love.

The game ignores it completely, only the ps button works. Seems paired fine as it works in the ps menu. I don't think the nav con has any motion sensors in it anyway and it only has the x and o buttons.

I tied one move controller under the left side of the ds4, now I have full movement in game, plus the in game pda is now tied to the ds4 literally. Strafing via turning the contraption, backward by holding it upside down (move pointing backwards), right analog to rotate, click right analog to sprint (after remaping L3 to R3), x, o, [], ^ buttons all work on the ds4 as well as the right side shoulder buttons, but you still need access to the move trigger to use the teleportation device.

Ofcourse that all wouldn't be neccesary if the devs simply used the ds4 for motion as well. The DS4 can do all the functions of a move controller and more. It's fine holding it in one hand to use one side of the controller (not so comfortable with a move tied underneath lol) so you can hold another move controller in your other hand. One hand free to pick things up, other hand for smooth movement/rotation with one ds4 analog stick and controller orientation for strafing, plus total 8 face buttons and 4 shoulder buttons to map things to.

Anyway solus project is great, especially now I have access to sprinting.
