Forums - Gaming - Live vs PSN - Registered Users

Anyone have recent possibly accurate count of Live users vs PSN users?

How many of them actually play games online?

I remember reading:

Registered Live users 10 million, xbox + xbox360? worldwide? silver, gold?

Registered PSN users in USA was 2.8 million.

Just curious how they compare.

its live for sure.

Well PSN shall probably get easy more online users.

JUST REMEMBER!!! HOW BIGGER THE SIG, HOW SMALLER THE ****

It's somewhere near:

X360: 11.34m
PS3: 7.13m

Give or take a few thousand. Both hold attach rates of 60-65% of users Online. I think the difference, however, is what the users do online.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

There are so many "dummy" accounts on Xbox Live it's not even funny.
I, for one, made at least 5 accounts.
There is a little exploit on Live where, once you sign up for a Xbox Live account using Hotmail.com, you receive 1 month free of Gold membership.
I made like 5 so far, real easy way to just keep playing against N00BZ without buying a new membership each time.
And lots of my friends do it also...

I would be willing to be that more PS3 users have PSN enabled but more 360 users that have Live use it more than PS3 users that have PSN and use it.

Has either company ever released detailed information about online registered users?

Well, that does make sense seeing as the PSN is free (meaning that anyone who can get a connection can sign up)
whereas Live isn't (meaning that people who get it will want to get their moneys worth/play online enough to justify the purchase of Live).

Yeah, pretty much whenever they hit certain landmarks, they've made press releases about it.

Nine Million 360 users have a gold account

Recent NPD survey said that 50% of 360 users play online... 50% of the total userbase = Nine million
