Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft management gets big support as Vivendi threat looms

Hopefully they can fend them off. Ubisoft is so underrated, they get alot of unwarranted hate. If you think they're bad now, just think how much worse they'll be under Vivendi...

I made a thread about Ubisoft being underrated a couple months ago. Even if their open world design got repetitve and sucks, Ubisoft is the most creative of the big publishers, they try many different games and launched several new IPs this gen.

I don't understand why they'd go public if they didn't want another company buying their shares.

Hostile takeover are something really common.

The problem is not other people buying shares, is that people effectively controlling the company (and imposing their criterio over yours).

France, change your stupid law. Seriously, it's just beneficial to large companies trying to take over smaller companies. Make them have to work their way to 51%.

Not really. It makes a big company more hesitant to buy a big percentage of shares, since they may be forced to buy up to 100% of the shares if the shareholders want...

With your system, Vivendi just would buy 50% of the shares and would effectively control Ubisoft, without having to pay for the rest. The only thing that is stopping them to do that is that they would have to make a takeover offer.

Well I have fond memories and a long history enjoying Ubisoft games. However. When I think what would change besides the logo??

The Ubisoft games are already microtransaction ridden
Paid add on content
Paid Shortcuts
Paid Currency

Im not sure what would change, its already a cluster fuck.

I think nothing will change if it happens. Other than the logo. Years ago it would have been different. They already shit that bed.
