It was announced just a few hours ago but the Sharks coach, Ron Wilson, was fired today.

I guess it was about time. When a team is that good, but they can't get over the hump, the coach usually goes. What do you think? Excited about a new coach?

 i liked him as a coach but you could kind of see this coming. Good decision though. Can't wait forever to at least get to the cup. i didnt dislike him personally as i did sutter, i respect wilson, but dump and chase isnt going to win the cup. we need to have the forwards start carrying the line, they'll score more flashy goals and wont look inexperienced and retarded on breakaways and in shootouts.

Also, he had some sort of friction with Marleau, didn't he?

 There might have been some lingering issues after Wilson called out Marleau after the series against Detroit last year. All we can do now is wait to see who the new coach is, and hope it's a good decision.

Have they discussed any front-runners yet?

Detroit's getting another sweep and without Franzen, we're not losing this year.

There's been speculation by Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports & other NHL bloggers but nothing really definitive. Just gotta wait and see on this
