Forums - Sony - "Let It Die" is a refreshing take on the Souls formula

Anybody give it shot?

I'm not a fan of Suda51. I expected to play it for about 5 minutes and then throw it in with the rest of the "Suda51 games I played for 5 minutes and then forgot about pile", but NO! I actually played it for about 4 hours yesterday... more than I played Yakuza Kiwami. Its Souls at its core but it has a lot of interesting mechanics that give it it's own indentity especially when compared other Souls clones (Most dont even try to hide the fact they're ripping of FromSoftware).

We know what to expect from free to play games, but again I think Suda and company went above and beyond in not making the pay stuff mandatory. It's more there to give you an edge than to make you feel hindered by not paying.

For better or worse .... game oozes with all that Suda51 charm. I liked what I played alot.

Around the Network

I liked it a lot. Outside of the "f2p" mechanics that get more prevalent later to force you pay for things, and the repetitive nature of some maps, it's very cool. The boss fight in the train, which is as far as I've got, was very fun.

Admittedly, Super Bunnyhop's video on it kind of made me stop from trying it. But, I think it looks a lot more creative than many Souls-like. As long as Souls-like games are more like Nioh and Let It Die, I wouldn't mind some saturation, lol.

I played it a few months ago and I remember really enjoying it on the first day, I played it for hours straight. But then the second time I decided to play it I just didn't find it nearly as fun anymore. I dunno why, especially considering how much I enjoyed it the first time. Haven't really played it ever since.
