Forums - Gaming - YAKUZA studio live-stream presentation - YAKUZA 2 Kiwami/ SHIN YAKUZA. New protagonist/ YAKUZA Online/ Fist of North Star

I'm guessing a Kiwami 2, and maybe ports to new gen of the PS3 titles, since Yakuza seems to sell quite well in Asia now.
It's be a bit weird if they also handled the HD version of Shenmue, it would seem easier for Sega to contract BluePoint or something.

Muitple titles to be annouced. One expected

My guesses

1. Yakuza Kiwami 2 (expected)

2. Insight to where the Yakuza series is going after 6

3. I believe that the SHENMUE HD updates are being done by Yakuza studio

4. A reboot of a Classic SEGA IP will be annouced

That's the most important one for me. It would be great for anybody that's missed 3, 4, and 5 to be able to play remastered versions of them as well. I'm such a fanboy I would almost certainly double-dip on those 3 games.

Very true.

In one of SEGA's financial reports post image restoration claims, one of their focuses was an increase in in-house development and less reliance on outsourcing to ensure quality. If SEGA had to use one their own development teams Yakuza studio would make the most sense.

I see, but if the Yakuza team is involved I feel they'd push to make Shenmue more of a remake than a remaster.
In that case it'd make sense to announce it at one of Sony's bigger events, like TGS, rather then at this smaller one.

So two more days.
I think we might see Kiwami 2 here with the success of Kiwami.
I am also expecting remasters of Yakuza 3-5 for PS4
Then another spinoff for Yakuza Ishin 2 or something.

Forgot about something!

A lot of the Yakuza team worked on the Jet Grind Radio series. The Day 1 content for Sonic Forces is Jet Grind focused. Why Jet Grind? Hmmmmmm...cross promotion/marketing?

first guess right but given

Yakuza 2 is the best of this series .
