EA has confirmed the price for Rock Band, following the European date announcement this morning.

Europe, unlike the US, will not get all of the instruments bundled together with the game.

Instead, you will have to fork out for an Instrument Edition at GBP 129.99 / EUR 169 - comprised of the drum kit, guitar and microphone - then buy the game separately for GBP 49.99 / EUR 69.99.

Anyone after the whole lot will be looking at a total of GBP 180 / EUR 240, then. That's rather more than in the US, where you can buy the game and all the instruments for USD 169 - equivalent to around GBP 85 / EUR 107.

Wireless guitars will be sold separately for GBP 59.99 / EUR 79.99, while the drum kit will be GBP 69.99 / EUR 89.99.

Hopefully retailers will be offering their own bundles.

Rock Band will be out in Europe exclusively for Xbox 360 on 23rd May. PS3, PS2 and Wii versions will follow later this summer.

 

Talk about getting the short end of stick. I am not some kind of music specialist but I could make my own Rockband with the money they charge for this shit.

Kotaku said in american dollars, altogether for the three instruments and the game it's ~370 dollars.

If you have a PS3, you can import the game.

I actually thought Rockband was out in Aus? I don't know now hahaha, thought they had it for demo at EB, but that might be just what it was, a demo lol. Ohwell, if the EU are gonna get it for that much, I'm expect a 300AUD pricetag = VOMIT!

That is my point. The game cost more than the console itself. You could buy real instruments cheaper. Getting games much later with half assed translations is bad enough for Europe. This is like paying to get raped.

I do not know about an Australian release, but I bet you will have to sell your house or car to buy it.

EA's sale strat always baffles me... ignore the two most popular console right now in favor of the one that is starting to lose marketshare...

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Hey, this is really expensive. I even find expensive the €100 for GHIII.

Offtopic: BTW, does GHIII in Europe has the same mono problem with the American edition?
