Why exactly did Miyamoto greenlit Mario+Rabbids and not Paper Mario Actual RPG with New Characters and a Good Story? Those Rabbids are absolutely terrible characters. The gameplay may be good but I can't stand those stupid rabbids.

You don't owe anybody an apology. Most Rabbids games rank in the sixties on Metacritic. Rabbids is a shovelware franchise with entries on the PS2, Wii, DS, 3DS, PS4, 360, and GBA. They've whored the franchise out to virtually every system imaginable.
Luckily somebody at Ubisoft had the balls to dare make a good game out of the series, and pitch it to Nintendo to boot. I can just imagine the thought processes of the guy who is development lead.
"Oh god! I fucking work at Ubisoft making awful shovelware games. I didn't go to school for this. That's it! I'm not gonna take it anymore! I'm going to make a real game out of these annoying Rabbid fuckers, and I'm going to pitch the idea to Nintendo! That's why I started working in this industry! To make good games!"
The idea that there might be a good Rabbids game featuring Mario is surreal to me. What's next? Mario X Knack being legitimately good?
I'm getting this day one. Quality deserves support, I really hope this sells great.
I always liked Rabbids - they were like batshit crazy cousins of Minions from Despicable Me...but I had no idea what actual mix with Nintendo characters would look like.
And I must say, it looks really good.
still thinking if I would buy this game or not. but we'll see when we get there. not sure if the kids would love the gameplay and play it with me. for me, I'm only hesitating to buy day 1 games due to the backlog that I have and it is not those priority 1 games for me as of the moment.
