So I ordered the OR+Touch a few weeks ago on Amazon for 450 euro, I wasn't sure I wanted it but ordered it anyway, on the checkout page it said the actual cost would be lower than 380 euro, and this is the price they would honor after chatting with them. But, I would need to pay 450 euro first and they'd refund me the change. So now my order is ready to be shipped, my questions are, 1. anyone ever got such a policy from Amazon, where they refund later instead of updating the price? 2. Is it worth it at 380 euros?

I had a DK2 3 years ago, I loved it at first but then it collected dust so sold it. How much better is the consumer product? Is it easier to use with Dolphin and non official VR apps? I'm also really interested in PSVR due to the exclusives (already got Rez), are there people who have both? I haven't updated my gpu yet but maybe I dont want to miss out on the OR at this price, iirc it's less than I paid for the DK2.

Tracking is better on OR, comfort and screendoor are in favor of psvr, OR has better resolution and detail with a good gaming PC, psvr has a higher refresh rate yet OR has the higher native frame rate. For software it's the usual PC vs Console. PSVR is curated but it all simply works. OR has a lot more on offer with unofficial support yet there are no guarantees outside the OR store. Both have exclusives and also share plenty software.

For 380 euros including touch controllers it's a pretty good deal. If I had a capable PC I would get it. (Although probably go back to psvr just for the ease of use, got too much to play anyway)


Amazon hasn't knocked the price for me in that way before, yet they always honer their pre-order price guarantee and refund my credit card if an item drops in price at or a right after it becomes available.

If you don't have the graphics card then get the PSVR. You are going to add another 200-300 dollars just to get a VR ready GPU.  Also, I hate facebook so that's another reason why to choose PSVR over Oculus.

I bought OR + Touch at a discounted price and I'd say its worth it (at least for me since vr kanojo is a god tier game). There are a few caveats tho. If you want a roomscale experience, you are gonna need to buy a third sensor since while 2 is fine for most games, its not that good if you plan for a bigger experience.

And the other one which is the much bigger deal is the gpu u got. Yes the minimun requirements are lowsh but trust me, you need to turn the AA up to the max if you want to have a good experience cause otherwise, you will get shimmering which = bad and yes, you also need to play at native res as well and be able to maintain a high framerate. For me with my ryzen 7 1700 + gtx 1080, its not a problem but your mileage may vary.

All in all, I am loving it so far. It does get a bit sweaty but maybe thats due to me playing porn games.

Oh and running non official apps on oculus is easy. Just allow "unknown sources" in general settings and you are done.

Is it now as simple as clicking a .exe and the unofficial app will just start? I remember on the DK2, I had to swap the app window from my monitor to the DK2, it was a real hassle and messed up resolutions and what not.
