A Link to the Past also has more content than Super Metroid.
More content doesn't make a better game.

True in some cases and not in others. Metroid is not a RPG. It's an action adventure game with RPG elements. Zelda and FF are true RPGs. In that context, FF VI's content (plus better story) makes it a better game IMO.

Umm, no. Zelda isn't a RPG. I understand making a case for Zelda 2 or Breath of the Wild being RPGs, but the others simply aren't.

I don't like to go into long debates these days, but in Zelda you have a story driven game with hit points (hearts) upgraded equipment, NPCs to talk to, and a world to explore. It's an action RPG.

How is Zelda a classic RPG and not Metroid by your definition?
Metroid is a story driven game with hit points (energy tanks) upgraded equipment and a world to explore. Some metroid games have NPC's but due to the nature of it's story it is usually her alone. Metroid and Zelda are the same. Both are action adventure games. They have more in common with Hack and Slashes like God of War than they do with Final Fantasy games. At least the earlier ones. FF15 is showing the series is trying to become an action adventure game.
