agreed - call her a stupid twat if you must and move on, again she is seeking attention so the best move in my book would be to ignore her ass

I think we should ignore her—but not ignore the people calling for her death.  The way I see it (disclaimer:  I know only what I have gleaned from this thread), she likely did what she did to protest exactly the sort of ultranationalist flag-fetishizing that produces the extreme reactions that she got.  Ideally, everyone would simply turn away in disgust and nothing more.  People like your grandfather are unfortunate collateral damage; her true target was the people that have now threatened her life.

I hope she's not going to whine about getting the reaction she was aiming for.  (Denunciation=/=whining)

I think she has.  Some people happily stick their dick in a hornets nest and then cry because they got stung.  People are funny.

It's an example of the abuse of laws that are meant to protect instead of allowing anyone to do whatever they want.

Yeah, but exercising your freedom of speech cannot be an abuse of laws that protect, because, it is a fundamental right. Diplomatic immunity is a privilege which is why some people can abuse it. You can't abuse your freedom of speech. It's a freedom and you can exercise it however you see fit so long as you aren't physically harming someone.

Apple to oranges.

But there's also laws against. Double edged sword.

In what area of the United States does some random law outrank the Constitution?

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

Putting a "death mark" out on someone for doing something you dislike or disagree with? Sounds an awful lot like Sharia Law is already here in the US of A, and it ain't even the Muslims doing it. Clever.

Every time you say there is a law against it, I'm going to quote you telling it was overruled by the Supreme Court just a few months later until you stop.

Okay, there's atill a law against it though.

And it was overruled by the Supreme Court  What part of that is lost upon you?

None. Got it. Still a law.

That's like saying slavery is still legal simply because it was once.  If you don't know how the law works, the Supreme Court works, the Consitution works, just say so.

Otherwise, you should stop.  The burning of your own American flag is not against the law in the US or any federal, state or local jurisdiction.  There have been nearly 50 proposed consitutional amendments since the 1990 decision but none have passed.  If there was already a law against, why would there need to be new proposed laws against?  The reason is because there is no law.  The one that did pass Congress in 1989 was overruled and hence no longer law.

But go ahead. Keep ignoring it.

The law has never been annulled.

I love my country but people like that make ME want to piss on the flag. Blind nationalism creates fascism. We spilled a lot of American blood to stop Nazis. It's in vein if we all have to be nationalist drones. I'm glad people are free to express themselves in this country.

I rather have national socialism than the shit we have today. Yes placing a bounty on someone on craiglist even though it cant  found is overreacting doing these things for the sake of free speech will cause troubles. Its very stupid. But shouldnt be something that should change your life if you do these things.

Irrelevant.  It was ruled by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional.  It would require an amendment to the Consitution to make it illegal again.  When was the last time an amendment was proposed and passed by the same Congress?  1971.  Almost 50 years ago.

But it's still there.

Do you not understand what it means when the Supreme Courts overrrules a law and deems it unconsitutional?

Sure.
