Forums - Gaming - PS3 vs 360 in 2008

I'm going to answer the second question first since it's a shorter answer for me; PS3 will sell more.

As for the first question, it's a harder thing to decipher. 360 has over 20 games it's sharing with a PC release that aren't seeing the light of day on the PS3 this year. Some big titles like Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake, Left 4 Dead, Supreme Commander and many others that really flesh out the 360 line-up even further than it already is. There are also the console exclusives like Gears of War 2, Halo Wars, Banjo-Kazooie 3, Ninja Gaiden II, Fable 2 and Too Human, and you can see this is going to be a hefty year, and surprisingly, a year filled with few exclusive FPSes and more rounded game selection.

The PS3 on the other hand, I don't think I even need to mention how vast the line-up is. Even with the departure of GT5, you still have a monster year ahead, with the possiblity of a new Naughty Dog project rearing it's head this fall.

Overall I think the PS3 will take it for quality, but not by much at all. If even one of these PS3 games ends up a critical flop, I can see the 360 take this year again with quality software.

Don't mention Supreme Commander.  Just don't.  It's one of my favorite games, and I fear how they'll butcher it to fit it in only 512 mb of ram.

ummm ps3?

basically 2008 and on will be ps3

gta5 will not make 2008
and final fantasy xiii might also not make it, espacially not in na and others

I reckon in quality of games the PS3 may just edge it but 360 may have more quantity. I expect PS3 to outsell the 360 throughout the year.

Records: First British Team To Win FIFA Club World Cup, New Record for No. Of Consecutive Clean Sheets In Premier League, New English & British League Records for Minutes Without Conceding, New Record For Going Undeafeated In Champions League (25 games ongoing), First British Team To Beat FC Porto In Portugal, First Club To Defeat Arsenal At The Emirates In European Competition, First Team In English League Football History To Win 3 Titles Back To Back On Two Seperate Ocassions

Actually, I'm looking forward more to the 360 lineup.

Left4Dead (though I should have a PC by then) and Gears 2 are much more interesting to me than Resistance 2 or Killzone 2.

As for the rest, they seem to equalize each other out... MGS4>everything else but when you add in Too Human, Banjo 3, SC Conviction, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Ninja Gaiden, etc., I think it looks pretty good compared to LBP, Haze, and some of the other PS3 exclusives coming out this year.

It all comes down to personal tastes. In 2009, the PS3 should be leagues ahead of the 360 in exclusives.

PS3 Exclusives

360 Exclusives*

*and loads and loads of PC/360 multiplats. :P

I think the PS3 will sell more as the user base will be increased by games such as MGS4. I think the 360 will stay close behind especially near xmas with the release of Gears of War 2.

PS3 will sell more.
