Yeah, I was specifically talking about the XBO version of RotTR, I think it launched the same day as Fallout 4.

I know. That was the game that Microsoft needed to combat uncharted before Sony pushed the date back. November is cod and battlefield territory too. Fallout being there too was overkill. Sony dodged a bullet.

It seems like Sony has realized that the holidays are dominated by the big 3rd party titles, the last few years they havent seemed to release any major 1st party titles during the holidays.

The Order was pushed back from holiday 2014 to early 2015

Uncharted was pushed back from holiday 2015 to Spring 2016

Horizon was pushed back from holiday 2016 to early 2017

Maybe it's a coincidence but I think they realized that Q4 just has too much competition.

I don't think it matters when they launch it tbh, Xbox exclusives tend to have a hard time no matter when. Just look at Quantum Break or Halo Wars 2, they launched early in the year and did terribly.

If it's not Halo(not wars), Forza or Gears it probably won't do well. But maybe Crackdown will beat the odds.

Yea I've been saying that. The owners refuse to support the games that have been put out. I can see MS's point of view staying with what sells. Still we're getting a new Crackdown this generation finally. A new State of Decay and a new IP Sea of Thieves plus Lucky Tales or whatever it's called. We're getting a new Ori as well. Plus all those other games they showed and multiplat. What's wrong with that? There were a lot of games showed yesterday that will be available to play for Xbox gamers.

Like I said in another thread hopefully the new regulars will be Halo, Forza, Gears, Crackdown, Ori and State of Decay. Nice rotation for me.

It'll probably flop.
