I finished it 4 times and got the platinum trophy so it was definitely not "unplayable"
I didn't play it at launch though

Yes, best survival horror since RE5.
Though Alien Isolation is up there too
Duuuude, I've been replaying Dead Space these days in anticipation for a great survival horror announced in the E3. Don't wanna get all my hopes up until I see it announced, but hell freaking yeah. The Evil Within was the best game from 2014!
I really enjoyed the first one, despite the stupid 1 shot traps. I hope they fix that part ;D
PSn - greencactaur
Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)

Well, that's not really a confirmation, but I do hope that they're making a second one!!

More than the actual RE4, I've always thought The Evil Within was the embodiment of what RE4 originally was supposed to be.

Yeah, but I don't think that version even had supernatural moments, I think it was just going to be that hallucinations were a side-affect of the virus that Leon had

As far as I know, the Hook Man could easily kill Leon despite being a supernatural element. And he was indestructible, not unlike specific enemies of TEW.
And it could be argued that it's an expansion of that original idea, considering the supernatural elements in TEW are explained as it takes place within everyone's minds, not in the real world.

I guess it'd be like the Matrix, "The body cannot live without the mind", since Leon's dead in his mind, he's dead in real life? And I didn't know about that plot point in TEW, I can't remember which chapter I made it to.
