It's only a matter of time, before they siphon off EU systems to try to meet the JPN/US demand.

There's a very real possibility that JPN is to NS what the US is to X1; I can't recall the last time 3 systems did so well by separately dominating the 3 major markets.

XBO is really the only console that is being consistently saved by one country. The PS4 and the Switch both have two markets that are interested.

For now, but I think Switch is really the successor to the 3DS than Japan has been waiting for; don't be surprised if they take that market from Sony.

I still don't get where the idea that the Switch isn't popular in Europe comes from! In Switzerland you stll won't find one in Stores anywhere, the biggest gaming online store has the earliest delivery date in August... and its not only the console itself, same goes for the joycons, pro controller and even the hardcase from Nintendo themselves. same thing in Germany, Media Markt (one of the biggest electronics markets there) hasn't had them available online since launch.

Sure it might not be as crazy popular on the same level as in the US or Japan, but it is in no way unpopular over here i think even the wii could be found in stores quicker after launch at this point.

You can check stock, and the EU is the only region it's becoming consistently available in: the UK, Italy, France, Germany, and Spain, in that order. Those are also the most populous nations in Europe; you can keep track of that here: https://www.nowinstock.net/uk/videogaming/consoles/nintendoswitch/

In the US and JPN, it still sells out almost immediately (exlcuding overpriced bundles), which seems to indicate that supply still has a ways to go in catching up with demand.

It happens here in Japan with every non-ms console, but who am I to break the narrative?

Hint: even happened for the ultra successful WiiU.

ya expect thats not true.

We are 3 months out from launch and Switch is still selling out almost instantly, the same cannot be said for 3DS, Vita, Wii U or PS4.

We are three months out and stores are still only getting small allocations, look at the size of the store in OPs pictures, it was allocated 37 units, anything stocked in such low numbers after launch will sell out.

It was only a short while ago that people were queueing in Japan for the chance to be picked from a lottery to buy a Playstation vr, and that things been out a he'll of a lot longer, are you trying to say that the psvr is super popular due to it selling out instantly too?

Oh Nintendo...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Wait, do you mean take Japan from Sony? Nintendo already has it.

I assume he means the home console market where Sony last Japanese strength lays.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

This is great news for Nintendo... terrible news for myself and other more casual consumers that were waiting on stock to normalize to the point you could just walk into a store and pick one up instead of having to stalk the device online and potentially put in extra and/or costly effort to get it.

Yeah. The people who thought Nintendo would be forced to add a game to their NS bundle or drop the price with 50/60 dollars at the holidays, will very likely be wrong. NS is not going to need a pricedrop any time soon if Nintendo keeps this kind of momentum.

If Nintendo could start meeting supply demands, this thing would be an absolute monster. Japan's demand is going to be astronomical once Splatoon 2 and Monster Hunter XX are actually out. Nevermind if Pokemon Stars actually happens this holiday.

Do we really need a topic each time Nintendo creates artificial " shortages" to create a artificial hype?

Its not selling faster as the ps4 and sony could make enough system after launch, soo can Nintendo.

Is this joke post!?

Well that's dumb. I'd much rather just pay the extra 10k for a scalper console than line up for hours and most likely end up with nothing anyway...

Well infos saying that around 10k higher price is just for preowned Switch.

3 months after launch Switch is still selling better on week basis in same time period than 3DS, Wii U, PS4 and Vita despite its still very supply constrained. You could find everywhere few week after launch in Japan 3DS, Wii U, PS4 and Vita, that isnt case for Switch depsite for same time period Switch managed to sell better than Wii U, PS4 and Vita (in few weeks it will beat even 3DS for same time period). So no, that wasn't case with any previous non-MS console.

This list maybe you will gave you more clear picture, no one console-handheld from list wasnt so supply constrained 3 monts after launch like Switch.
