Forums - Gaming - Gamestop are jerks.

One of my friends wanted to try to sell his Xbox to get store credit to get a 360. They would give him $20 in credit for it. Wow (heavy on sarcasm)...these guys really are generous with their credit. Selling almost everything he had, he probably wouldn't come up with the price of a common next-gen game. Well, screw you, dear GameStop. These guys are cheaper than believability would allow. I saw, shortly after Heavenly Sword's release, a man come in and ask "How much would I get for an unopened copy of Heavenly Sword?" Thirty bucks. It lost half its value because it was out for a few weeks. And yet you can justify selling Xbox 360s that have been out for years at full price? I'd be better off selling my games on Craigslist.

What would you have liked them to do? A used Xbox at Gamestop only costs 59.99 to purchase. Considering this is a business and they need to make a profit, explain to me what a fair amount would have been for his Xbox?

I warn you people not to trade in your games. Its like selling a piece of your sell when you get ripped off blind by these parasites.

Forty bucks is more reasonable.

it's business, were do you think nearly all their money they need to stay open comes from?

I like the GameStop near me, aside from their used game business.

You must be kidding. You think a business will take a console off you for $40 just so they could make an extra $20? Get real. They're a middle man and it's always the same when you deal with them. That is the only reason why craigslist and eBay are a better way to sell games, you cut out the middle man. Gamestop offers convenience to those that don't want to have to advertise a sale for themselves, but you get less in return because of this convenience.

Ebay folks, Ebay.

I sold a gently used copy of GUN on Ebay for $50 USD w/ shipping. I paid $55, and sold it about 1 month after it came out on the 360.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

They sell secondhand games for near full price it is a joke. The person who trades in loses the most.

Might as well sell it privately would get fifty or sixty bucks.

@mrstickball so GUN must be bad if you sold it within a month. Its good to hear you got good price for the game.
