I found this, as a fan of the NBA, video games, and the nba 2k franchise, to be fairly cool. Evidently Take Two, along with the efforts of a few NBA franchises, have established a League-operated esports counterpart (almost akin to their current D-League format). It works as follows:

"The league will be structured similarly to the NBA; teams are operated by NBA franchises and feature five professional eSports players. The teams compete against each other in the most recent NBA 2K game, and each member of a team only uses their in-game MyPlayer. The league will feature a regular season, as well as the playoffs and finals."

Here's a list of the 17 teams that are participating:

"Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards"

I've never watched all that much from the eSports world, though I did enjoy the Starcraft competitions. Can't say I'm sure that this'll be interesting enough to watch, but I'll at least give it a try; I just wish the Heat's team would change their name ("Misfits" sounds like some teenage girl punk rock group lol).
