Yeah if you guys are gonna play Extella, i recommend either watching a Playthrough (of at least Fate Extra) or reading a good in depth summary of Extra and Extra CCC (the one game that didnt got localized), if not then playing Extella would be like taking an advanced class of Calculus without even knowing basic Algebra, the story of the Extra series is really convoluted and there is so much to the Lore of the Fate franchise that even fans (like me) cant keep up with it, because its constantly being expanded through various works and some of them dont even get localized like Drama CDs and stuff like that.
I know that it sounds like a lot of work but the Fate Franchise is awesome, if you are interested you are in for a ride (and its a shame they never localized CCC since its actually the best game in the series).
EDIT: Wait!, i just rememberd there is an anime adaptation coming out this year of Fate Extra, if you guys dont wanna watch extensive playthroughs and/or read very long summaries, then you should wait till you watch it and then play the game.
