Forums - Gaming - Platinum says they'd port 'all their games' to PC

This.  It's likely Bayo 2 wont be hitting up on PC ever.

We have zero evidence of a contract like that being in place. Ninty having Bayo 2 to tiself till the end of time sounds like the worst business deal of the century. To carry on with the franchise, but not allow other platforms to have 2, to not have a missing piece just comes off as illogical when you want to tap another user base.

Also all we have to run on is that Ninty funded it and nothing more, no photo proof of a solid timeless binding contract for Bayo 2.

its just a fairly common thing when you fund a game. Nintendo paid Platinum to make that particular game. it wasn't an 'exclusive' deal per say, the game wouldn't have been made if Nintendo didn't moneyhat it. They likely do own the title essentially, contractually.

if they didn't own it then there would have been word on it being a timed exclusive or exclusive for a certain period of time. There is 0% chance that Nintendo funded the game and then it just mysteriously stayed exclusive the last few years.

otherwise WHY would Nintendo fund it in the first place? if Bayonetta 2 wasn't controlled by Nintendo then we would have heard Platinum or Sega talking abuot its potential to end up on another platform at this point (which has never happened)

But not to the entire IP. Remember that Sony "funded" SFV and MS some other IP's that they don't own either, those ended up spreading to PC.

I agree with this.

It seems like we have a lot of suppose nintendo employees posting in this thread :P

There's no telling whats in the contact between SEGA and Nintendo - for all we know, SEGA allowed Nintendo to fund the game and release it exclusively on their platform only for a limited amount of time before SEGA can release it on other platforms.

A developer such as Kamiya wouldnt have access to that information since he doesnt work for Nintendo, doesnt work for SEGA nor does he own the Bayonetta IP.

Again, only time will tell. I personally believe this is gonna be a similar situation to what happened with Mass Effect where Microsoft had rights to the game but the IP owner bioware who was later purchased by EA was able to release the game on other platforms (namely the PS3) after a timed contract.

its NINTENDO. I don't think there is an example in the history of Nintendo where they SOLEY funded a game by a third party and didn't retain control over the title. The Bayonetta 2 scenario is not a regular move by Nintendo and there has been zero discussion from Sega/Platinum about it going ANYWHERE else. Its fairly safe to say Nintendo wouldn't just fund a risky game without contractually guranteeing themselves some reward from it.

if they didn't have a contract to control that particular title then it would mean they pay for the creating of it and then, what, it only temporarily is exclusive? that makes zero sense, particularly from a conservative ass company like Nintendo

So now my thread goes off topic and becomes about just "bayonetta 2" not going anywhere else....

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

My bad, its like arguing with a bunch of walls so I'll stop xD.

But ya, would be great to see more ports but SEGA is going at a snail's pace in porting their legacy titles.

It's not your fauly. I already asked Turk to get back on topic twice. IF anything, those that hopped into the thread to tell us "Bayo 2 ain't happening" aren't really offering anything new to the topic besides giving us ther "nuh huh".

Ya

Anyways, Vanquish or MadWorld will be fine with me.

Bayonetta being released on PC few days ago was okay but not something I really wanted to come out yet :P

Not really that many games made by Platinum that I'm interested in.

Vanquish is the one I'm most interested in atm, so I'm hoping on that being their next port.
