Forums - Gaming - PS3/PSV Title " The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel" coming to PC this summer (With 5,000 new voiced lines) and The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel II TBA for PC as well

Nice, I've heard good things about these games so I'll keep an eye out for this.

Nice, I bought this on the Vita but still haven't gotten around to playing it.

Also, it would be nice if they patched the extra voice acting into the consoles versions for the fans.

This particularly title is... ehh. I mean, it's got fun combat and some nice Persona-esque character building which is fun, but it takes far too long to go anywhere plot-wise. I'm about 30 hours in on Vita and so far I can honestly say that nothing has happened. Literally. It's all just setting up future plot threads without doing anything of its own.

Dialogue is also frustrating. You'll have long phases of exposition and characters saying things just for the sake of saying things.

It's not bad. And I believe it sets things up very well for the sequel. But as a stand-alone piece, it's not Falcom's best work.

Hmm, I see. Is the sequel any better, if you've played it?

I haven't. From what I read, the sequel is significantly better yes, mostly due to the fact that the first game sets up all these plot points and the second actually explores them all.

But it's a direct sequel (taking place immediately after the first game), meaning you'll have to slog through 80 hours of "ehh" to get to the good stuff from the second. It's a big committment. I'm doing it myself since I love Falcom stuff (and this series has some of the best world-building this side of Suikoden), but just giving a heads up to anyone interested that it takes a long, long time to get going.

Oh OK, thanks for letting me know . I'll keep this in mind.

I mostly prefer playing games on portables so I will stick with the Vita version. It is a great game though (I am talking about the first one, I have not gotten to the second one yet), and like most Falcom games it also has an awesome soundtrack, so I think if the PC and PS4 versions are worth it.
