There is a bit of missing info in the OP. How people originally got to the countdown is by completing the 8bit Bayonetta game on Steam. It seems (although not confirmed) it's gonna be on pc whatever it is.

This is where I'm leaning, looking at all the info. A port of Bayo 1 on PC (which would be the end of a long history of me NOT double dipping). Bayo 1 is that good. Plus, I really I never did pay for Bayo, as the price would have likely been the same ($60) if Nintendo and Platinum never decided to put the first in.
