Forums - Gaming - Will MGS4 live up to MGS2?

@rocketpig

about the "last hour" of MGS2,

dont u think Kojima hidden the real story until the end to create an intentionnal twist/revelation in the story adding the feeling that the player was completely controlled by the game creator (Kojima) since the beginning.

?

This is too much, really, the only thing we need now is Keanu Reeves speaking Raiden's lines. I'd probably have a fucking heart attack from the laughter.

Thank god for the disable signatures option.

wow so much bias against philosophy in video games. You're basically proposing a form of censorship by implying that video games should never contain long philosophical expose'. Why be against variety?

 Totally.  You know, in fact, when I'm at home I mix up a little rocky road and strawberries in with my beef stew.  It's awesome.  You should try it.

It's possible. Either way, it didn't work. At the very end of a story, a good storyteller doesn't turn to his audience, point and laugh, shouting "Hahahahah, suckers! I burned you baaaaaaaddd! Eat it!"

Startling revelations like that need to be worked into the story itself, not tacked onto the end of the game after everything else is said and done.

 For the love of....we aren't saying games shouldn't have philosophy, we are saying MGS2 did a really crappy akward job of trying to be philosophical.

 But your reaoning is that the philosophical dialog in it was too long. I'm saying should games not be allowed to tackle philosophy head on even if its in an hour or two long bursts?

At this point in the discussion, I think all that is left is to post this video.

 I'd like a 2 pump venti mocha and a blueberry scone please and could you warm that up for me?  That would be great, thanks.

wow such immaturity in this thread, no wonder you people don't enjoy philosophy you don't have half a brain to process it with.
