Forums - PC Discussion - THQ officially announces Dawn of War 2

Source: http://www.strategyinformer.com/news/726/thq-officially-announces-dawn-of-war-2

"Relic Entertainment and THQ have today announced Dawn of War II, the highly anticipated sequel to the Real-Time Strategy game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Set for release in spring 2009, and powered by an enhanced version of Relic's proprietary Essence Engine 2.0, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II will take players to the brutal frontlines of war where they’ll experience intense action and visceral combat through a non-linear single player experience and a fully co-operative multiplayer campaign.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II is set in the grim, war-ravaged world of Games Workshop’s Warhammer 40,000 universe – a dark, futuristic, science-fiction setting where armies of technologically advanced warriors, fighting machines and hordes of implacable aliens wage constant war. Dawn of War II ushers in a new chapter in the acclaimed RTS series, as ancient races – including the dauntless Space Marines and savage Orks - clash with ferocious melee and ranged combat across fully destructible environments in what will be the most visually-stunning Warhammer 40,000 setting ever created.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II is being developed exclusively for Windows PC, and THQ is pleased to announce that owners of the recently released Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Soulstorm will be able to participate in an invitation-only multiplayer beta program for Dawn of War II, set to take place at a future date."

The first Dawn of War was awesome, very fast and brutal. Relic definitely deserves the fanbase and the successs.

I bought all the add-on but Soulstorm
but I must say I m a bit disapointed by DoW at the end.
The reinforcement system is just not realistic ...
I hope they will made a lot of improvement and PUT THE TYRANNID !!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to Work !

First one (with expansions) is the best Real-Time Strategy what i have played.

They developers have repeatedly stated that they didn't think the Tyranids could be done justice with the current DoW engine. Wether that's true or not is debatable, but I take it as a pretty clear sign that they're planning on incorporating them into DoW2 somehow.

Anyways, I'm pretty meh about this annoucement. Everyone has known this game was on the way for a while, but nobody has had any details. Now they tell us the game is in production, and that's it. I'll start drooling when the first screenshots and such arrive.

@KillerMan,

dont u think the reinforcemen,t system is just UNrealist ?
unit APPEAR on the battlefield like by magi

@Parokki

yes, I also believe Tyrannid are coming and that is great.
But will be hard to kill the ZERG of SC2 ...

Aurally examine my music!

Wear gaudy colours or avoid display. It's all the same.

Be warned, I will use walls of polysyllables and complex clauses as a defence against lucid argument.
