Switch should've been delayed until late 2017

Nintendo said they delayed the Switch from Holiday 2016 because the line up wasn't big enough, do they consider what it launched with big?  A Wii U port, some other indie ports, and basically 2 real new games (1-2 Switch and Bomberman. Once again the software droughts are gonna be painful as the next new games are far off: Splatoon 2 in the summer, and then another big drought until Mario Odyssey. There's barely no 3rd party support as games like Mass Effect, Ghost Recon and Prey all skip the system.

It also seems the Switch has lots of hardware problems, from syncing issues to software errors to the dock scratching the screen. There's no internet browser nor even a Netflix app. Switch just feels very lackluster right now.

Should Nintendo have waited until Q4 and iron out all the problems, maybe even bump up the specs and launch with a solid line up with Zeruda, Mario, Splatoon 2 and Xenoblade all at once to blow us away? I certainly would've preferred that, over the current situation, waited 5 years on Zeruda, what's a few months more? Besides maybe they could've achieved 1080p on it.

No one is pointing a gun to you. Those who want buy it now, those who prefer to wait are free to do so.

As for the apps missing, you people realise that a simple update can launch a Netflix app, a browser, etc etc right? It's not like you will have to wait for the next generation...

Besides, 300k units in 2 days in japan, plus US and Europes numbers show a very decent first day support from fans. The console will be fine...

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

People are just trying too hard

I would also take indefinitely so they can concentrate on making software instead wasting time on hardware.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

You only delay if you would have gotten better hardware like the newer Tegra chip.

Yes absolutely. By then all the massive hardware issues could have been fixed and a faster, more competitive Nvidia chip with less power consumption would be available for a better price. And games.

No PS4 released with just about as much content. They will have to keep it up though and can't get lazy.

No, its very obvious that Zelda BotW alone is huge system seller, just look initial sales numbers.

The Switch's launch is a mess. Offers barely big games until the end of 2017 (unless you consider 50-60 dollar minigames/indiegames/direct ports to be big). Lots of hardware and software issues. No multimedia apps like Netflix or Spotify, no internet browser, goes back to friendcodes. It's also way too expensive for the technology and line-up it's offering. All these things could be solved if they waited until the end of 2017. They could make it on par with X1 by removing HD Rumble and therefore expect more support from other studios.

I think most Switch buyers are ignoring the future of Switch because of Zelda and most will be disappointed eventually. Splatoon 2, Mario, Fire Emblem and Xenoblade are mostly for the die-hard Nintendo gamer. You need to  offer a big variety of games to all sorts of gamers, not just one.
