If you don't play online is not worth it, really, the free monthly games SUCK the majority of the time, they are mostly indies. You don't get to keep any of the games after your subscription is over. Personally, I don game online and I don't take advantage of PSN, I'm not planning on renewing my account.

I disagree. I haven't played online in months, but the PS+ discounts alone almost made up for it. (Got Catherine for $2, and Resident Evil Revelations 2 + Season Pass for $6, for example.)
Add Yakuza 5 and Resident Evil HD as two free games I was going to buy anyway, and it more than paid for itself.

Yeah, their sales are good from time to time, but I have taken advantage for a few games that do not have physical releases, I got FF VII and Resident Evil 1, but I prefer to get my games in physical format. If the OP likes digital then that's a point in favor of PSN!

Looks like these answers are accurate. Any other questions about it?

Actually, ya.  This is still unanswered:

"Wasn't there something along the lines of free minis or avatars?  Might have been an older offer/policy."

I'd pass. You don't play online and the majority of PS+ games are titles you'd probably never consider buying on their own.

Six games a month seems like a lot, but much like the games purchased during Steam sales, they'll most likely gather dust in your backlog.

If you're going all digital, though, you should seriously consider it.

Welcome, I see you have got your answers. I am currently subscribed to 2033, so there is quite alot of games waiting for me ahead :)

Seriously?  Was this some kind of glitch?

Yeah, maybe, but not with Playstation. There was this site who sold subscriptions, and they put out a giveaway where you could enter your email and know right away if you won a 3-month PS plus membership. But it was poorly designed, I just entered the same email several times, won like each 3rd time. Ended up with over 60 pieces of 3month ps plus subscriptions :P Lucky me I guess :O

I'm seriously contemplating on subscribing to PSN Plus, but let me tell you where I stand on it and where I need help understanding.

1) I do not game online.  Nothing against it, I just cannot dedicate a lot of time for it.  On rare occasions on the PS3, I'd go online playing the first LBP.  Did a little Resistance, and little Warhark.  That was it.

2) $60 a year in worst case scenaro is $5 a month which more than likely pay for itself in discounts.

3) I do understand that free games were always accessable as long as you as you have an active paid subscription.  If I didn't renew my subscription, those free games were not accessable anymore.

What I need answering is :

4) What free items (if any) I'm allowed to keep if I didn't renew my subscription?

5) If I don't take advantage of a free game for that month, will I loose accessing that free game the next month?

6) I heard something along the lines of downloading or placing every free item in my cart while I have a subscription so I can access them months later even if I'm not interested in them if that makes any sense.

Thanks.

Everything is yours to keep, except the "free" games.

You can add all the free games to your library so then you can download them at any time if you choose to.

Also right now on PSN store if you buy a 12 month sub, you get an extra 3 months free.

There are ALOT of free PS plus themes and avatars. The most recent is the Horizon Zero Dawn background theme and avatar :)

The largest benifit I have taken advantage of is the PS Plus sales specials.  You can get up to 90 % off of games and those you can keep.  I have saved hundreds a year. There is always flash sales, publisher sales, genre sales every month, some change weekly.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

you still have some days to get LBP 3 with your PS+ subscription btw

Hahaha. If you can only sell back some of those subscriptions.

PSPlus, XBox live gold they are both horrible IMO.
I also don't game online on consoles and I will buy all games I want to play online on PC.

Now if you ever feel like playing online, since you don't do it every month, you can just grab a code from the internet for cheap and use that, I did that to co-op with a friend in Bloodborne once, which works fine.

Now the value of PSPlus comes in 2 ways: DIscounts on digital purchases and games you get to play each month, which are not free but you PAY FOR.

If those 2 things are not worth it and you don't play online enough to be subscribed, obviously cancell. If nobody uses this service online gaming will be free once again and altough its unlikely to happen anytime soon I do think these services will change over time to add more value instead of online play (hopefully)
