Forums - Gaming - Switch Pro Controller works natively on PC

That's kinda cool. With that awesome battery life, this is just about a perfect controller.

Now try it the other way around. It's not PC who desperately needs more options.

Mouse and keyboard on a Switch? Mouse and keyboard isn't terribly portable.

Woah, this is nice. Better than the 360 controller which needs that addition device for remote play.

Intel Core i7 8700K | 32 GB DDR 4 PC 3200 | ROG STRIX Z370-F Gaming | RTX 3090 FE| Crappy Monitor| HTC Vive Pro :3

That's pretty sick, now I can play Dark Souls 3 with a Nintendo controller. :3

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Nice. I'll get it now for sure.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

They obviously use the same drivers and API that for example the PS4 and Xbox controller use as they are also plug and play on PC. So there seems to be no technological reason to not be able to use a different controller on the Switch. Except of course if Nintendo is actively preventing it to limit choice.

They probably are, the assholes! They better make the WiiU gamepad backwards compatible!

so what option do you want? sorry but your complain seems a bit silly cause consoles are closed platforms and Nintendo is giving you their propietary options which are joycons, joycon grip and pro controller.

I think we already established how Nintendo hates backwards compatibility so that won't happen.

It's just really funny that PC can basically use any controller while consoles don't even allow you to use controllers within the same brand.

Yeah, gaming on PC's great. The only thing a gaming rig can't do too well is being portable so enter Switch.
