We have always been saying that, historically the PS system keeps getting better as the times passes, which less first party games at the beginning and a lot more during the middle and end cycle of the console, and that's why people who have been playing on PS consoles know for sure that the system will be more than worth it in the run, getting more games than you can actually play, heck, I'm still catching up to PS1 games to this day, lol. |
It's also worth nothing a console is defined not just by the company that makes it, but also its userbase. Sony's first party offerings weren't that great at the beginning, but the userbase supported 3rd party software that happened to be exclusive to the PS4 or limited to PS4/PC. Some recent examples I can come up with are Digimon Cyber Sleuth and Yakuza 0. The former got localized courtesy of a petition and it sold well that Bandai Namco NA uploaded a thank you video on Youtube. The latter got localized because of #Buildthelist. I don't know how it sold, but it had a lot of positive buzz when it launched.
