Remember when people used to say "PS4 has no gaemz"? how when it came out people where picking on it because it didnt had a launch lineup as strong as the Xbox one?

I said it back then and i will say it again, when it comes to exclusives Sony always starts slow and the more time passes the more and more exclusives we start to get, until we get moments like this one in which its quite literally a new exclusive every month and sometimes several exclusives a month.

January: Gravity Rush 2, Fate Extella, Tales of Berseria, Yakuza 0
February: Nioh, Digimon World Next Order, Horizon Zero Dawn, Hatsune Miku Future Tone
March: Nier Automata
April: Persona 5

Now obviously this wont last forever and we will be back to having months without exclusives (thats why i said "moments like this"), but my point is never judge PS exclusive offering potential by its launch line up since they always start slow and they get better and better the more time goes on.

We have always been saying that, historically the PS system keeps getting better as the times passes, which less first party games at the beginning and a lot more during the middle and end cycle of the console, and that's why people who have been playing on PS consoles know for sure that the system will be more than worth it in the run, getting more games than you can actually play, heck, I'm still catching up to PS1 games to this day, lol.

It's also worth nothing a console is defined not just by the company that makes it, but also its userbase. Sony's first party offerings weren't that great at the beginning, but the userbase supported 3rd party software that happened to be exclusive to the PS4 or limited to PS4/PC. Some recent examples I can come up with are Digimon Cyber Sleuth and Yakuza 0. The former got localized courtesy of a petition and it sold well that Bandai Namco NA uploaded a thank you video on Youtube. The latter got localized because of #Buildthelist. I don't know how it sold, but it had a lot of positive buzz when it launched.

Another case of selective memory:

Ryse, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Breaker, Dead Rising 3, Halo MC, Halo Wars... and if you are adding R&C and LBP as system sellers, than I could add Recore, Killer Instinct, Ori and the Blind Forest.

The Japanease games ARE the the reason for this "canyon". It is not like MS didn´t tried, they just failed.

This is why I don't think limiting the conversation to "games that count" works. You're just only going to say a bunch of PS4 games don't count for no good reason. Like saying that a game that was very well recieved, and sold over 2 million units (R&C) only counts if we count a game that didn't get good reviews and will be lucky to crack 400K (Recore).

Even if you take out Japanese games, there are more PS4 exclusives. Which of those games matter to you, isn't really relevant to the topic at hand.

I don´t know why you are refusing to understante a very simple concept: Big/expensive games data Sony and MS developed or paid development. That was the topic of the article, these are games in the same cathegory as Horizon.

I am just ignoring the very small games that flood both stores.

PS: Do you know what "Life of Blakc Tiger" is?

Selective and short term memory are wunderfull thing.

This article has so many caveats one could live inside it for years.
We all this from where this "canyun" cames from:

- Japanease public.
- Japanease develorpers.

But if it was clicks he wanted, he surely got it.

A game is a game regardless of its country of origin.

Indeed. If the argument that most of the titles are from Japanese developers, then surely Xbox should be able to respond with a load of exclusives from US developers. But no, the response is "Japanese games, so they don't count."
