Have you not seen the latest previews?

To quote IGN:

As I said earlier, there's only so much I can go into right now, but this is the system seller that we've all known Metal Gear Solid 4 was going to be. This preview has only scratched the surface; we haven't even described some of the bosses, radical and innovative game mechanics, or other features that make this title a fitting conclusion to one of the best franchises in gaming. As soon as we're able, we'll bring you more details on Metal Gear Solid 4, but for more information, check out our interview with Hideo Kojima here. And for new screens of the game, click on the gallery at the bottom of the page.

^ This guy just played the whole game.

Like I said, I don't have much interest in stealth games, so I've done little reading on things like MGS4 and Conviction.

But I guess I'll put you down as a PS3 +1 then?

I've been a +1-er since the game was announced.

To quote GamePro:

The graphics: You thought Gears of War looked amazing? Think again. Metal Gear Solid 4 will blow you away with its ultra-detailed characters and intricate environments, painting some of the most gorgeous graphics seen this side of Crysis. In motion, the graphics look so realistic that your eyes begin to register the visuals as a movie rather than a game. From what we saw, MGS4 puts its 50GB Blu-ray disc to outstanding use.

The guns: The final game will feature over 70 weapons, from lethal assault rifles to silent tranquilizer guns, and you can outfit many of them with scopes, recoil grips, laser sights, flashlights, and more. Collecting enemy weapons will unlock new guns and "Drebin Points" for further customization.

The sound: MGS4 has some of the crispest, clearest sound effects we've ever heard -- the booming gunshots will make your hair stand on end! The Hollywood-style soundtrack is also predictably fantastic, and Snake's raspy voice sounds more desiccated than ever. GamePro editor Sid Shuman went so far as to say that MGS4 has "the best sound I've ever heard in a game."

The story: MGS4 is the darkest Metal Gear game by far: Snake is in terrible physical shape, and the world seems to rest on the brink of self-inflicted annihilation. Though the mood is dark, it's not depressing: you'll find plenty of characters to care about in this war-torn world.

...

Playing a nearly complete build of Metal Gear Solid 4 running on the PlayStation 3 was a revelatory experience. The graphics looked sensational, the sound effects and music sounded magnificently epic, and the interface felt sleek and simple. In short, it's becoming increasingly clear that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be the rare game to live up to its own massive hype. We feel confident that MGS4 is the game PlayStation 3 owners (and Metal Gear fans) have been waiting years to play. Visit GamePro.com for late-breaking updates on MGS4, and check back next month for more detailed hands-on details of what is quickly shaping up to be the top game for 2008. We couldn't be more excited!

I think you will have to change your sig, will be good not to see a 0 beside the PS3 anymore :D
It will be.  The higher all three numbers go, the games and consoles sell, the healthier our favourite industry is.

lol, console exclusives. That's just a cheap way to make the 360 look better.

Actually given what I consider to be PC gamings relative nicheness and prohibitive entry costs, I consider them genuine exclusives.  But too many people had a bitch when I put that.

This is me being a conformist appeaser.  I guess I am to the whingers what Europe is to Russia atm

So the PC doesn't count cause you say it doesn't? Why not count Zelda TP and RE4 Wii edition in there too? I don't see the numbers for GC and Ps2 AAA exclusives down there, so I guess those two would qualify as Wii exclusives :)

Crysis has sold well over a million, despite it's insane requirements. ;)

Tbh, I think that the popularity of the PC platform in Europe is one of the things keeping the 360 from doing well in the region.

In the US maybe, where PC gaming isn't as popular.

Crysis sold a million in less than three months.

Obviously I'm only counting current generation consoles.  Actually I was counting Zelda, and RE4 just snuck into the list.

Looks like I have to update for the Wii right now:)

And also, how did I forget to check for Smash Brothers?  And Mario Kart Wii is already up there?? WOW.

What are the 3 wii games up there?

I guess in the end it comes down to perspective. Here in Australia keeping a PC updated enough to play the PS3/360 ports is massively expensive. Perhaps that will change in a year or so once PS3/360 games start to really lag behind the PC in terms of performance. Of course once it becomes that noticeable, there won't be as many cross-over games.
