Forums - Gaming - Why is Nintendo trying to forget about Metroid? They didn't learn an thing at E3 2015?

Because Metroid isn't as important as people think. It's a hype game that doesn't sell

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

The real question here is why did they forget about Dre?

I don't think Metroid and Starfox will ever come back. Chances are Retro is working on a new Donkey Kong rather than Metroid. After Donkey Kong Returns, Nintendo saw that the game was much more profitable and sold 3 times as much as Prime 3. As Nintendo, why would I want Retro to make Prime 4 rather than a New Donkey Kong Country?

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

You're 2 years late for this.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I think we'll see metroid in full form this gen.

'Nintendo' and 'learn' in the same sentence?

Guess we will have to just wait and see

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a Metroid game for the Switch

..whether it's a mainline Metroid Prime game or a spinoff, that I'm not sure :p

Nintendo is Nintendo, they can easily bring all of their big franchises to a system at a good pace but they don't.

The switch is starting off well with a new Zelda that isn't 4 years in it's life cycle and a 3d mario right off the bat.

Let's hope within the first 3 years of the Switch that we get a 3d pokemon game as well.
