Forums - Gaming - State of decay is one of the best RPG of all time.

I am playing through it again right now, and I agree that it is an amazing game. But the controls are pure shit.

I expected it to run smoother on Xbox One. It does run better than the 360 version, but it still laggy and buggy as hell.

The game has a lot to love, building a community with the correct characters to survive properly is a joy! Combat is good considering how bad the controls are. Cars breakdown way too easily, but that just adds to the challenge.

I don't consider the game an RPG though, it's more of a survival/horror game with some RPG elements.

As flawed is this game is, I still love it very much and look forward to part 2.

Never considered it an RPG. Did some googling and apparently it has some RPG elements to it.

Wouldn't put it on a list of the top 100 RPGs though.

Neat game though.

Going by that, I assume you never played the game. The game has a lot of rpg elements including decisions and such. Kind of reminds me the balanace of action and rpg that mass effect 2 has.

Exactly what I thought when I saw his comment lol... Using Google to build an oppinion, that's new :)

I think the game is actually really well done and I like the mix or RPG / Survival aspect. I would not put it at the top of the list but definitely the higher end.
I'm really looking forward for the second one coming to Xbox One :)

Not at all, is just a fine game.

Not quite. I had an opinion of the game. It was from a while ago.  One that didn't even recall any RPG elements. I had to google it just to see if there was any RPG elements at all.

After all it did come out FOUR year ago.

I see.

Well, at some point there is also the matter of defining an RPG which can be very different from one person to another; I mean some are considerating Diablo as an RPG (this is one of my favorite game), I do not (even Action RPG would not fit imo) :)

But yah, State of Decay has a lot of RPG element and the micro-management is big.

The one thing I really hate about this game is how it continuously sets up bad trade deals, like trading ammo for food when you're clearly low on ammo and have plenty of food. If you decline the bad trade you get influence taken away. I don't understand the logic behind it.

It's kind of hard for me to rank this game high. I love the game but it's 4 yrs old and still broken.

I just ran into a bug where inventory can no longer be accessed. I can't speak to other survivors and it seems I can no longer progress. I may have to start my game all over again.

The bug won't seem to go away, I have searched for answers on this bug and can only find other users on pc that have ran into the same bug. The solution they use is not possible on Xbox One.

Edit: Started,a new game and it didn't fix the problem. I don't know what to do, I guess deleting the entire game and re installing would be the next step. I even tried the other modes, Breakdown and Lifeline. I have the same problem there. I can't speak to anyone, can't check vehicle or house inventory. There is no way to progress with this bug.

nnooooooooo

is it even a RPG?

Haven't played it and probably never will.
